Fyodor Dostoevsky (1821-1881) was a Russian novelist, short story writer, essayist and journalist. He is sometimes regarded as one of the greatest novelists in all of world literature and many of his works are considered highly influential masterpieces. (Wikipedia)

| St. Petersburg | Dostoevsky's parents sent him to the free Nikolayev Military Engineering Institute in St. Petersburg, which he entered in January 1838. After his arrest in 1849, Dostoevsky was imprisoned in the Peter and Paul Fortress. He married Anna Grigoryevna Snitkina in Trinity Cathedral in 1867.
